John Swofford

John Swofford played quarterback and defensive back for UNC from 1969 to 1971 and was named the university's athletics director at 31, holding the job from 1980 to 1997. Carolina won the Sears Directors' Cup in 1994, and in 1997 he became commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
