About NC LIVE
123 of the resources below come through NC LIVE, a statewide consortium that pools the purchasing power of North Carolina libraries. Buying together, member libraries can offer research databases, newspapers, ebooks and learning tools that few could afford on their own, and every Orange County cardholder shares in that access. The rest of what you see here is provided by the library itself, by the county, or is freely available to anyone.
NC LIVE, the statewide collection behind many of these databases, publishes usage figures for every member library. Orange County patrons used NC LIVE resources 32,280 times from August 2025 through July 2026. Figures for library services such as checkouts and Wi-Fi sessions come from the library's latest NC Public Library Survey report.
