In less than a week, residents shared more than 500 testimonials, comments, and signatures, about what the Orange County Public Library means to them.
As part of the FY2026–27 budget process, the Board of County Commissioners ultimately chose not to approve the proposed additional reduction to library operations. Most importantly, our library branches will continue to be open seven days a week.
We are grateful to everyone who took the time to participate, to the Board for considering public input during a difficult budget year, and to the library staff who serve our community every day.
The response was a powerful reminder of how much the library means to Orange County.
