W. C. George (Wesley Critz George)

Wesley Critz George, a University of North Carolina biology professor, led the White Patriots of North Carolina, a segregationist group formed in August 1955 to frustrate the desegregation of the state's public schools. The Patriots preached white supremacy and in 1956 held mass meetings in towns including Hillsborough.

Wesley Critz George gave this address at the annual initiation banquet of Alpha Omega Alpha, the honor medical society, in Chapel Hill on April 1, 1955. It was reprinted from the November 1955 issue of The Pharos and published in Palo Alto by the society, and its topic is medical students at Chapel Hill.
