George Watts Carr Sr.

George Watts Carr Sr. (1893–1975) was a Durham architect, in practice there from the mid-1920s to 1961, and a lifelong champion of the Colonial Revival. In Chapel Hill he designed houses for University of North Carolina people from the late 1920s into the 1950s, including the 1940 Carmichael House. In 1948 he remodeled Montrose in Hillsborough as a Colonial Revival house for Lt. Gov. Alexander H. Graham.
