Edward W. (Terry) Waugh (1913–1966) was a South African-born architect who came to Raleigh as one of the first professors at the North Carolina State School of Design and opened his own practice in 1951. In Chapel Hill he designed a run of modernist houses from 1952 into the 1960s, most on Morgan Creek Road, among them the Thomas House of 1953. With his wife, Elizabeth, he wrote The South Builds (1960).

Architectural plans, drawings and sketches by Edward W. 'Terry' Waugh, Raleigh architect and NC State professor, 1935 to 1966. They include campus plans for NC State, UNC Greensboro, the university at Chapel Hill in 1959, the Universidad Agraria in Peru and Samarcand Manor, along with city plans, among them Chicago in 1945.
