William E. Lindsay
William E. Lindsay was a hosiery manufacturer in West End, the mill village that became Carrboro. In 1902 he and his partners chartered the Blanche Hosiery Mills Company, named for his wife, and with Isaac W. Pritchard he ran it on the second floor of Thomas Lloyd's Alberta Cotton Mill before they moved to their own building on the street later named for him.
