Richard H. Jenrette

Richard Jenrette, a UNC graduate and Wall Street financier, bought Ayr Mount in Hillsborough in 1985 and paid for its restoration, staying there while he served on the UNC Board of Trustees. His Classical American Homes Preservation Trust, formed in 1993, came to own land around Ayr Mount including Poet's Walk and the Occoneechee Speedway.
