Kendall B. Waitt
Kendall B. Waitt (1811–1893) was a Massachusetts-born carpenter and cabinetmaker who worked in Chapel Hill for about thirty years, much of that time as the university's carpenter, locksmith and plumber. In December 1844 he and his partner Isaac J. Collier won the $9,360 contract to build A. J. Davis's additions to Old East and Old West, finished in 1848 with new halls for the two literary societies. He moved to Raleigh in 1866.
