Oscar Carver Beasley
Oscar Carver Beasley was an African American parent and community leader in the Sartin and Cedar Grove neighborhoods of northern Orange County. He sat on the Sartin school advisory committee in 1949 and on the building committee for the new Cedar Grove School in 1951. Over the next fifteen years he returned to the county school board with his neighbors to ask for classrooms, a lunchroom, playground land and repairs.
