Sturgis E. Leavitt

Sturgis E. Leavitt taught Spanish at the University of North Carolina from 1917 until he retired in 1960, becoming a Kenan Professor in 1945. He founded and directed the university's Institute of Latin American Studies and advised its foreign students.
