Justice played tailback at UNC in Chapel Hill from 1946 to 1949, leading Carolina to a 32-7-2 record and three New Year's Day bowl games. He was Walter Camp National Player of the Year in 1948, Heisman Trophy runner-up in 1948 and 1949, and was named to the 1950 class of UNC's Patterson Medal winners.
