Andy Griffith

Andy Griffith entered the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1944, starred in several Carolina Playmakers productions, was president of the Glee Club and graduated in 1949 with a degree in music. In 1972 he set up a scholarship fund for Carolina's dramatic art and music students, and in 2005 he gave his career memorabilia to Wilson Library.

Record album issued in 1978 on the Chapel Hill label Colonial, with songs about the University of North Carolina and about the football player Charlie Justice. Orville Campbell wrote the notes on the album cover and co-wrote several songs with Hank Beebe; Andy Griffith and Johnny Long also appear. The label number is EI-KB-1978 and the Colonial issue number 2890.

A documentary film about members of the University of North Carolina class of 1949, with graduates including Andy Griffith, Allard K. Lowenstein, Vic Seixas and John B. Swainson. Fifty two minutes, in English, credited to William Conrad and issued by Home Box Office. The Chapel Hill alumni are the subject throughout, and the film is dated 1966.
