J. Isaac Copeland

J. Isaac Copeland headed the documents department of the UNC library in Chapel Hill, where he earned his Ph.D. in history, and from 1967 to 1975 was director of the Southern Historical Collection and a UNC history professor. A native of Clinton, South Carolina, he also led libraries at Furman and George Peabody College.
