Edmund Strudwick (1909-1973)

A portrait painter in Hillsborough, Edmund Strudwick painted the portrait of the late Orange County sheriff Oddie Clayton that was hung in the sheriff's office in March 1962, after a public subscription led by Burch Compton, Clayton's former deputy.

The pictures are set in Hillsborough and feature four Strudwicks: Shepperd the elder and the younger, Clement Read and Edmund.
