Vermont C. Royster

Vermont Royster, a 1935 UNC graduate who edited The Wall Street Journal from 1958 to 1971, returned to Chapel Hill in 1971 and taught journalism and political science at UNC until 1981. As a Kenan professor emeritus there he won his second Pulitzer Prize in 1984, for commentary.
