Alexander McCulloch

Alexander McCulloch (died 1798), a Halifax County planter and royal councillor who enslaved more than seventy people at his death, held a commission in the Orange County militia until he resigned it in 1754 because he lived too far away. As colonel of the Edgecombe militia he went with Governor Tryon on the 1768 expedition to Hillsborough.
