Maurice Julian

Maurice Julian was a Chapel Hill clothier and university alumnus who founded Julian's College Shop on Franklin Street. In 1942 he and his wife, Mary, opened a men's clothing store at 140 East Franklin to serve the cadets of the Navy pre-flight school on campus. He ran it until his death in 1993, when his children, among them the designer Alexander Julian, took it over.
