Hatcher Hughes

Hatcher Hughes entered the University of North Carolina in 1901, edited the student annual, and while a senior became an instructor in English, holding the post until he took his M.A. in 1909. He then went to Columbia University. His play Hell-Bent fer Heaven won the Pulitzer Prize in 1924.
