O. B. Hardison Jr.

O. B. Hardison Jr., a Renaissance scholar with two UNC degrees, joined the university's English department in 1957 and was named by Time magazine in 1966 as one of the country's outstanding college teachers. He left in 1969 to direct the Folger Shakespeare Library.
