Local figure
Historian Jacquelyn Dowd Hall founded UNC's Southern Oral History Program and led it from 1973 to 2011, building a collection of more than 7,500 recordings now kept in Wilson Library. She is Julia Cherry Spruill Professor Emerita of history at UNC, and in 2023 the University Libraries endowed a graduate fellowship in her name.

Fliers, letters and other papers from the Working Group in Feminism and History, begun in 1990 as the Feminist Women in History Group by historians Judith Bennett of UNC-Chapel Hill and Cynthia Herrup of Duke to support women graduate students and faculty in the area. Captures of the group's websites from 2003 and 2017 are included. A quarter of a linear foot.
