Fletcher Melvin Green

Fletcher Melvin Green taught history at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for most of the years from 1922 to 1968, chaired its history department from 1953 to 1960, and directed more than 100 doctoral dissertations. He was named Kenan Professor in 1946 and is buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
