Troy Monroe Andrews
Troy Monroe Andrews (1893–1982) was a research chemist from a farm family near Calvander, about seven miles northwest of Chapel Hill, who earned three degrees at UNC between 1914 and 1921. In 1954, visiting the farm, he and his wife, Robin, met the Swiss architect Franc Sidler, who sketched a house for them. After Andrews retired in 1961 they returned and in 1965–1967 built Sidler's stone Modernist house there.
