   Life event · Hillsborough Frances Armistead Burwell is born to Robert and Anna Burwell of Hillsborough

   Frances Armistead Burwell, called Fanny, was the fourth of the twelve children of Robert and Margaret Anna Burwell.

3. 1854
   Founding or opening · Chapel Hill Chapel Hill Baptist Church is organized

   Chapel Hill Baptists organized the Baptist Church of Chapel Hill in 1854 under William Henry Merritt, George W. Purefoy and Brantley J. Hackney, with Elder J. P. Mason as first pastor. Its first building went up in 1854–55, and the congregation is now University Baptist Church.
