  2. Douglass Hunt receives a C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Award

    Chapel Hill

    The university gave Hunt its Massey Award for service, citing him as a lawyer, historian and civil servant. He had worked with C. Knox Massey for several years to set up the Massey Awards and the Carolina Seminars program.

  3. Elson Floyd serves as UNC's first executive vice chancellor

    Appointment, election or service · Chapel Hill

    Chancellor Michael Hooker hired Floyd in 1995 for the newly created post of executive vice chancellor, overseeing auxiliary services, facilities, business and finance, human resources, information technology, student affairs and university advancement. He left in 1998 to become president of Western Michigan University.

  4. Elson Floyd receives a C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Award

    Award or honor · Chapel Hill

    Floyd, then executive vice chancellor, received UNC's Massey Award for service to the University, weeks before leaving for the presidency of Western Michigan University.
