Robert Ervin Coker becomes professor of zoology at UNC
Coker, who had worked for the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries, accepted a professorship of zoology at Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill rededicates its Daniel Boone Trail marker opposite the post office
At a town ceremony Ella Boone Dixon, a Boone descendant, placed a flag over the Boone Trail plaque and J. Hampton Rich explained its legend. Mayor John M. Foushee led the program.
