  2. Barnaby McCabe settles on the Eno on land bought from William Few

    Migration or settlement · Cabe homestead, north side of the Eno west of Pleasant Green Road

    Barnaby McCabe (later Cabe), a Presbyterian of Scots-Irish descent, settled in Orange County in 1758, bought 330 acres of William Few's tract on the northeast bank of the Eno, registered his cattle mark and took up farming with his wife Betsy Perkins.

  3. Barnaby Cabe hauls supplies and prisoners for Governor Tryon's army

    Appointment, election or service · Orange County

    An expense account shows Cabe served as a wagoner for Tryon's militia in 1771, carrying supplies, hauling prisoners to New Bern and appearing as a witness against the Regulators after Alamance.

  5. Barnaby Cabe takes a wagonload of flour to General Gates's army

    Appointment, election or service · Hillsborough

    Thomas Burke of Hillsborough wrote to Horatio Gates that his neighbor Cabe was bringing a load of flour to the southern army and would hand it over only on Gates's order, having been put off by the commissaries. The former Tryon wagoner had come over to the patriot side.
