The Weaver House at 116 Walters Road is the oldest building standing in Carrboro, a story-and-a-jump house of hewn logs built beside the wagon road to Hillsborough, by family tradition about 1740, and said to have been first a tavern. Thomas Weaver bought it in 1811, and his descendants kept it for ninety-nine years.

These books don’t necessarily mention Weaver House, but they cover where it stands, its kind of building and the land, family and burial records behind it, and they are where a search for a place like this usually goes next. All are at OCPL, most in the Wall Collection.
