Performers and interviewees include Tommy Jarrell, Fred Cockerham, Hazel Dickens, Alice Gerrard, Mike Seeger, John Cephas, Howard Armstrong and the Red Clay Ramblers. Ballads, banjo and fiddle tunes, blues, Cajun music and shape note singing are covered.
