Albert Ray Newsome

Albert Ray Newsome was an assistant professor of history at the University of North Carolina until 1926, returned to Chapel Hill in 1934 to head the history department and ran it until 1950. He died in Chapel Hill and was buried in the town cemetery. In between he was secretary of the North Carolina Historical Commission.
