Mia Hamm played for Anson Dorrance at UNC, where the Tar Heels won NCAA women's soccer championships in 1989, 1990, 1992 and 1993, and graduated in 1994 with a political science degree and the Carolina and NCAA career scoring records. She called Chapel Hill home for six years and gave the 2025 Commencement address in Kenan Stadium.
