  2. Appointment, election or service · Chapel Hill James Moeser serves as ninth chancellor at Chapel Hill

    Moeser, a music scholar who had led the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, became chancellor on August 15, 2000. His years included the Carolina First campaign, which raised 2.38 billion dollars; he announced in September 2007 that he would step down on June 30, 2008.
