  2. Construction or physical change · Chapel of the Cross, East Franklin Street, Chapel Hill The Chapel of the Cross builds a new rectory and parish house

    Under its rector, the Rev. Homer Worthington Starr, whose plan for new buildings dates from 1911, the Chapel of the Cross built a new rectory in 1914 and 1915 and then the Battle Memorial Parish House, named for Kemp P. Battle and his wife, in 1915 and 1916, without debt.
