A sitting-room wing and a separate kitchen are added at the Nash-Hooper House
A one-story frame sitting room, later the dining room, was built on a log base at the rear of the Nash-Hooper House, giving it an L shape. A detached frame kitchen went up just east of the house at the same time.

Former governor William A. Graham lives in the Nash-Hooper House
William A. Graham, former governor of North Carolina, made the Nash-Hooper House on West Tryon Street his home from 1869 until 1875.

William Hooper's remains are taken from Hillsborough to Guilford Courthouse battleground
The remains of William Hooper, signer of the Declaration of Independence, were taken up from his grave in Hillsborough's town cemetery on April 24, 1894, carried to Greensboro the next day and reburied at the Guilford Courthouse battleground. His original gravestone was left in the Hillsborough cemetery, on ground that had been his garden east of the house.

The detached kitchen at the Nash-Hooper House is torn down
The nineteenth-century frame kitchen that had stood a few steps east of the Nash-Hooper House since 1819 was demolished.
