  2. James M. Pritchard and Thomas P. Lloyd buy the bankrupt Patterson Brothers drugstore

    The Patterson Brothers drugstore failed in 1930, and Pritchard and Lloyd bought it from Wallace Durham Patterson. The maps then list it as the Pritchard and Lloyd Rexall store.

  3. James M. Pritchard buys out Thomas Lloyd and becomes sole owner of the drugstore

    Pritchard took sole charge of the former Patterson Brothers store, now Pritchard's Drugstore. Lloyd opened his own Carolina Pharmacy in 1940.

  4. Pritchard's drugstore on East Franklin Street closes after its owner dies

    James Manning Pritchard died and his drugstore shut. Rachel Crook sold pecans in the empty store for a short while before the North Carolina Cafeteria, formerly on Fraternity Row, bought the building and moved in.
