Speaking of events, be sure to mark your calendar for these upcoming Friends events:
Friday, October 4th, 7:00 pm – The Friends will host bestselling authors Eryk Pruitt and S.A. Cosby, who you might have seen on the Daily Show or the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In addition to penning novels, Pruitt is also a podcaster, filmmaker, magazine publisher, and owner of Yonder Bar right here in Hillsborough, where he hosts Noir at the Bar nights. Cosby has won pretty much every award possible for his engrossing crime novels. You won’t want to miss these two! Purple Crow bookstore will sell books at the event, so come on out, hear some interesting conversation, and get a personally autographed book or two.
Saturday, November 2nd – In recognition of National Novel Writing Month (“NaNoWriMo”), the Friends will host a writing workshop and write-in. If you’re an aspiring writer, come out and learn some great tips for improving your work and getting it published. You can also enjoy some quiet work time in the company of other writers. More info to come.

We Want Your Used Books!
Got some gently read books taking up too much space on your shelves? Donate them to the Friends for our used book sale! The book sales are our biggest fundraisers. If you have just a small box or two of books, you may bring them to the library at any time. If you have a larger donation, please email us at FOCPLNC@gmail.com to arrange for a Friends member to be on site to accept your donation. Thanks! And please help spread the word! The more books that are donated, the more money we can raise to support the library.
