It’s time for spring cleaning! The Friends have been working hard to clean up our bylaws and refresh our Facebook presence.
Bylaws Update
The board recently reviewed the existing bylaws with a goal of streamlining them to provide more flexibility and better reflect our actual operations. You can find the proposed amended bylaws at: https://focplnc.org/about-the-friends
Scroll down until you see the bullet points under “Resources” and click on “2024 Draft Bylaws to Be Approved by Members” to view the proposed amended bylaws.
In accordance with the bylaws currently in effect, the proposed amended bylaws are to be provided to the membership at least 14 days before the meeting at which a vote will be held on the amendments. We plan to vote on the amendments at our next meeting, which will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 7:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. All Friends members are welcome to attend either in person or virtually via Teams to vote on the bylaws.
Thanks to board members Grace Johnston, Tess Tessier, Meg Stouffer, and Wendy Scott for serving as the bylaws review committee. We appreciate your hard work!
Date Changed For Next Book Sale
Because the extra foot traffic downtown for Hog Day brought in more shoppers last year, we have changed the next book sale dates to coincide with this year’s Hog Day. The new book sale dates will be Friday, September 13th – Sunday, September 15th, with a Friends Members-Only pre-sale on Thursday, September 12th in the early evening. Be sure to mark your calendars and take advantage of the members-only early shopping!

May Friends Board Meeting
