  1. Buckhorn Grange holds a health fair Several hundred people came to the Buckhorn Grange's health fair at the Buckhorn community building to see nearly 50 exhibits on health and safety, a fire-control demonstration by the Chapel Hill fire department, a rollover tractor safety show by State College and a resuscitator demonstration. The Grange held it with the community's Blue Ribbon farm and home advisory board and the University's public health education school; the News called it the first health fair ever held in this part of the state. The News of Orange County (Hillsborough), August 22, 1957, p. 1
  2. The Buckhorn Grange holds its second community health fair About thirty exhibitors from business, industry and health agencies filled the Buckhorn community building for the Grange's second annual Health Fair, held with help from the UNC School of Public Health, which had worked with the community since 1954. The day brought demonstrations by the Highway Patrol, home nursing and first aid by Boy Scouts, typhoid shots, a ball game with Brigadoon and the crowning of the county 4-H health king and queen. The News of Orange County (Hillsborough), June 12, 1958, p. 1
