Henry Armand London, later a Pittsboro lawyer and journalist, kept this diary as a senior at the university from July to November 1864. He records church and literary society meetings, recitations, reading law, visits with Chapel Hill friends, and fights between freshmen and sophomores and the faculty's discipline. A paper dated 1867 to 1877 comes with it. State Archives of North Carolina, MfP.21.
