George C. Corbin

George C. Corbin was a Hillsborough tobacco man and twice the town's mayor. In 1881 he was traveling for Webb & Co., the Hillsborough tobacco manufacturers, and he was a partner in the firm with James Webb Jr. and Joseph C. Webb until it was dissolved in February 1887. Voters elected him mayor in 1883 and again in 1886. By the late 1890s he was living in Danville, Virginia.

  2. The Webb & Co. tobacco partnership in Hillsborough is dissolved James Webb Jr., Joseph C. Webb and George C. Corbin gave notice that their tobacco manufacturing firm, Webb & Co., was dissolved, leaving the two Webbs to collect its debts and wind up its business.
