William C. Coker begins turning a boggy pasture into the campus arboretum
UNC's first professor of botany began developing a five-acre boggy pasture on the campus into an outdoor classroom for the study of trees, shrubs and vines native to North Carolina. From the 1920s through the 1940s he added many East Asian trees and shrubs.

The Susan Graham memorial fountain is moved from Franklin Street to the edge of Coker Arboretum
The 1922 memorial fountain was taken from the Franklin Street curb near the Methodist church and set up at the edge of Coker Arboretum near Morehead Planetarium.

A dated event is a fact, filed on the page of the subject it belongs to: a person, a place, a theme, or a named event or history.
