  2. Construction or physical change · Hasell-Nash House, 116 West Queen Street, Hillsborough A Federal house is built on West Queen Street for Eliza Hasell

    Eliza G. Hasell bought the lots from Archibald D. Murphey on July 27, 1819, and the two-story house with pedimented one-story wings, modeled on a plate in Robert Morris's Rural Architecture, was built for her about 1820. After her marriage to William S. Plumer she sold it to Samuel Simpson, and his daughter Mary Simpson Nash's family held it into the twentieth century.

  4. Property or economic transaction · Hasell-Nash House, 116 West Queen Street, Hillsborough Alexander H. Graham acquires the Hasell-Nash House on West Queen Street

    After more than ninety years with the Nash family, the house passed in 1921 to lawyer Alexander H. Graham, later lieutenant governor and a grandson of Governor William A. Graham. The Grahams sold it on August 20, 1935, to Dr. H. W. Moore, who had it restored with architect Archie Royal Davis.
