  2. Founding or opening · Glen Lennox, Chapel Hill William Muirhead opens the rental office of Glen Lennox

    Muirhead named his apartment colony on the Raleigh highway Glen Lennox, after his wife's family, and opened its rental office in one of the apartments. It was to have 314 apartments in 48 one-story buildings; by March 1950, 66 families had moved in.

  3. Law, policy or court · Glen Lennox, Chapel Hill The Planning Board approves Muirhead's street layout around Glen Lennox

    The Chapel Hill Planning Board approved new streets on the fringes of Glen Lennox, including Ayr Street, which Muirhead named, extending the colony's central road across the highway so children could reach the new Glenwood School more safely.
