Historian J. G. de Roulhac Hamilton commissions a house on North Street from N. C. Curtis
In 1914 J. G. de Roulhac Hamilton, head of the UNC history department and later founder of the Southern Historical Collection, had N. C. Curtis design a one-story house with a pyramid roof at 517 North Street. Two rooms were added in 1924.
