Dear Friends:
It is that time of year again: our 33rd Annual Candlelight Tour on December 8, 2019! The theme this year is “Books by Candlelight,” and it will highlight some of our well-known local authors. It will be a self-guided, family-friendly discovery tour, during which you will uncover wonderful Historic Hillsborough. Proceeds will help support the Friends and the Library. There will be:
- intermittent candlelight readings given by local authors and teens scattered through town
- miniature-train rides that will circle the perimeter of historic downtown
- horse-drawn carriage rides
- visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Alexander Dickson House
- performing musicians throughout the day at assorted stops
- a Gingerbread Exhibit at Burwell School
This is a wonderful event for locals and visitors but we can’t do it without help from you all! We need volunteers to act as docents, attendants, and ticket takers. You can sign up to volunteer here. Thank you so much for your time and participation!
All volunteers receive 1 free ticket to go on the tour!
If we do not receive enough volunteers, you may be asked to volunteer for an additional hour to cover all shift times.
