Slow food is what we all used to eat on the holidays–and most other days of the year: delicious fare that was grown in the back yard or on local farms or prepared by neighbors. This year when we celebrate our holidays, we can make sure we have what we need despite supply-chain troubles, make our meals even tastier and more nutritious, and support our local farmers and chefs by learning about what is available to us right here where we live.
Your neighbors, chefs Leslie Stracks-Mullem, Jacob Boehm, and Claudia Sanders, will tell us what foods are available locally and show us great recipes that can be made with them. If you want to know about particular dishes (such as local flour, what to do with tiny sweet potatoes, or what local fruit is particularly flavorful), please join the discussion! This is not just a one-way conversation. If you have something you want to share about local food, you are welcome!
Please join us on Sunday, November 21, at 2PM. Click here to register. You will get a reminder!
NEW ZOOM MEETING LOOK!
The look and feel of this ZOOM meeting will be a little different from the ones you have attended in the past. This one will feel as if you are in the library meeting room listening to a panel answer your questions and the questions others have. The panel will be on video during the meeting, but attendees will remain anonymous unless they need to show something to the panel and the rest of the folks attending. You can raise your hand or chat anytime, and if you want to take a more active part, just let us know.
