FOCPL – The Latest News from the Friends!

October 6, 2023

Friends of the Orange County Public Library

Dear Friends,

Book Sale News

The recent book sale was a big success, and it couldn’t have happened without the wonderful volunteers who helped with setup and sales. Together, we raised over $6,000. Hooray! The members-only early shopping night has been very popular, and the curated auction table has enabled us to get good prices for valuable books. Thanks to everyone who shopped or helped with the sale!

Any Authors Out There?

Come Write In!

On Saturday, November 4th, the Friends will be hosting a writing space in the library’s meeting room from 9:00 – 6:00 for National Novel Writing Month (“NaNoWriMo”). If you or your teen are an aspiring writer, plan to come and spend the day working on your craft. Although the event will be primarily quiet work time, some prizes are planned as fun incentives to maximize your word counts. Local bestselling author and Friends Vice President Melissa Bourbon (a.k.a. Winnie Archer) will be on site to host the event, and she might even be willing to dole out some free writing advice. ; ) Pre-registration is requested for planning purposes. Sign up here:
