Papers of Abram Penn Staples, state legislator and clerk of court of Stuart in Patrick County, Virginia, and of his family, 639 items chiefly 1833 to 1913, beginning with a 1787 tax account book. They include his grandson Abram Penn Staples (1858 to 1913), a law professor at Washington and Lee, and great-granddaughter Harris DeJarnette Staples, with love letters, Virginia politics and UNC students among the topics.
