Fred 'Chuck' Pharr (1899 to 1996), interviewed 22 January 1993, remembers his student years at UNC Chapel Hill from 1918 to 1922: ROTC training, college football and its uniforms, dormitory life, courtship and the 1918 influenza epidemic. He also speaks of life in Charlotte and service in both world wars. About 18 minutes of audio.
