Eight items of John Hawks papers dated 1767 to 1969, in the Southern Historical Collection at UNC, collection 3530. Hawks, 1707 to 1784, is represented through material on North Carolina architecture: church architecture and church buildings at Edenton and Hillsborough, a courthouse and a prison at Edenton. Robert Treat Paine is the other name carried. The library filmed the papers in 1971.
